Terms of Use
Last revised 2026-10-07
Acceptance
By using the Okuapemman Association of Massachusetts website or member portal, you agree to these Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy, and the Association's Constitution and By-Laws.
Membership accounts
- Accounts are issued to vetted members and officers only. Keep your password and devices secure and do not share your login.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information in your profile and for keeping your contact details current.
- The Association may suspend or deactivate accounts in line with the Constitution, including for non-payment of dues or misconduct.
Dues, levies and payments
- Dues and levies are set by the membership under the Constitution. Balances shown in the portal are calculated from the Association's records.
- Offline payment claims are provisional until confirmed by the Treasurer or Financial Secretary. We issue receipts only for confirmed payments.
- Good standing requires dues to be no more than two months in arrears and attendance of at least 50% of general meetings (monthly General Meetings and the Annual General Meeting) in the year. Executive board and committee meetings are recorded on your profile but do not count toward this percentage.
Welfare
Welfare benefits are subject to eligibility rules in the By-Laws, fund availability, and Welfare Committee approval. Submitting a claim does not guarantee payment.
Elections and voting
Only members in good standing may nominate and vote. Each member may cast one ballot per position. Attempts to manipulate an election are grounds for disciplinary action.
Acceptable use
Do not upload unlawful or offensive content, misuse the member directory, attempt to access other members' data, or interfere with the platform's operation. Content you post to the community feed remains your responsibility, and officers may remove it.
Communications
By providing a phone number or email, you agree to receive Association notices. Message and data rates may apply to SMS; reply STOP or change your preferences in the portal to opt out of non-essential messages.
Intellectual property
The Association's name, emblem, and site content belong to the Association or its licensors and may not be reused without permission.
Disclaimer and liability
The platform is provided as-is for members' benefit. The Association is not liable for interruptions, data loss, or indirect damages to the extent permitted by Massachusetts law.
Changes and contact
The Executive Board may amend these terms. Continued use after changes means you accept them. Questions may be directed to the General Secretary at the contact address shown on the Contact page.
